hotmailcompany52
Brian, thanks for your advice. I did a review of the list changed some stuff and took in your advice. Here is my new list: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1PQXK
briansun1
you do know that 2 hdds right ? that and mx4 tim is fine. also don't get an AIO water cooler
hotmailcompany52
Yea, I'm getting two HDD because one has a faster read time so i can install games that I play often onto it. I sorta want to keep the water cooler because its quiet but is it in my best interest not to get one?
jfx
Brian, thanks for your advice. I did a review of the list changed some stuff and took in your advice. Here is my new list: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1PQXKYour list is pretty weird: 2.5" hdd, junk-level graphic card( you said you want to play GTA V on this build), postage-stamp sized display, etc.My suggestion (win8, cpu cooler and mainboard are guesstimates, case is also a matter of taste obviously):http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1PRYvAnd yes, UK prices are weird. Many parts seem to be 1:1 to their price in Euro which makes it about 20% more expensive (VAT is similar to most euro countries). hotmailcompany52
Jfx thanks for your advice. I'm fairly used to small displays cause my current display is only 15" and I find my family 21" Imac massive. I also like windows 7 more than windows 8 properly because I haven't used it at all. briansun1
then just go with win 8.1 wish start is gone and a start button replacer. other than that your gpu really is very underpowerd and I don't think you need 2 hdds
hotmailcompany52
I want quite a lot of space so I can partition the HDD, install all of my 60 steam games and its nice to have peace of mind that you wont run out of space.I've added a mouse and a keyboard now and it comes to a neat total of £895.98.Also anything else I need? briansun1
but I though you said you wanted a hdd (if you are getting 2 hdd's buy the same one)
briansun1
Ahh, done. Here is the final list: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1PVwy4 things....ok fine a few No ssd? Do you really need a"gaming" keyboard? For the cooler I would go with a 212 evo from cooler master. I would go with a 7970 for Gpu(just wait a bit and they should become really cheap) No tim? hotmailcompany52
SSDs are expensive...veryexpensive. The keyboard is very cheap anyways. I would prefer to not wait.
briansun1
wait as in end of the week/ middle of next (ssd's are worth the price IMHO)
Leonov
Britain's prices are silly at times. The 7950 is plenty quick, shouldn't have a problem there. The guys across the pond don't seem to have the new cards from AMD. I don't see the need for 4TBs of Space, but if you need it you need it. I dont think you really need an aftermarket cooler, but if you want one here is the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo on Amazon UK. Its a good cooler for the money. Here is an SSD i would recomend, Very fast for the price. only ~£20 more than a regular hard drive.Be weary of your power needs. Leonov
So...something like this would be good: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1PXN5?The Kingston SSDs use the sandforce controller, i do not recommend sand-force based SSDs. The Samsung 840 Evo uses samsungs controller and is a little bit more than it but in my opinion is worth every penny.I felt the same way about SSDs but now that i have one, there is no substitute. Why Windows 7 Pro over 7 Home Premium? hotmailcompany52
Thanks for the advice on the SSDs, maybe something like this: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/samsung-internal-hard-drive-mz7te120kw? I dont actually know...
Leonov
Thanks for the advice on the SSDs, maybe something like this: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/samsung-internal-hard-drive-mz7te120kw? I dont actually know...Yeah, that is the one i linked a couple posts back. They are quick as sin, reasonably priced and don't use the dreaded sand-force controller. briansun1
what's wrong with sand-force? @ above looks fine
hotmailcompany52
Thanks, I believe withe the sand-force it is a part that can fail but the samsung hasn't got that part. So, my parents have posed me with this question "What happens if you put it all together and it doesn't work?". They say I cant sell my laptop atm because of that issue. I have 1 small solution is to get my neighbourhood tech guy to build it for me for a small fee. Any other suggestions? briansun1
if you can read and understand pictures then you can't do it wrong... unless the part is DOA then you have to RMA itany way this this(a bit old but still good)and this
hotmailcompany52
I belive what they mean is what am I gonna do if just does not work at all even if I did everything correctly.
briansun1
if you do everything right then it will work. Unless you have a DOA part but that's just bad luck.
NuclearWarfare
Anybody can comment on this? I'm no computer wizard so I need some help determining if this is good.. My computer is terrible, though I made it a while with KSP before the updates became too much for it to bare.iBuyPower RevoltEdit: Building a computer is most likely out of the question.
