[0.17] Largest Payload to Orbit Minmus

Was planning to resurrect that thread, but it seems the OP has not posted in a while.

So anyhows, I really liked this challenge as a measure of big rockets. With 0.17 out we have the fuel bug fixed and new toys to play with (ie. NERVAs), as well as planets to give us a reason (like we needed it) to build 'em big. I thought it's time for another round.

Similar rules apply...

1. Feature-type mods allowed. So things like MechJeb, engineer mod and fixed cameras are fine. (however special kudos will be highlighted for all stock efforts)

2. Part-type mods are not allowed, such as engines, tanks, super strong struts, modified vanilla parts etc.

3. Must be one vessel, and one fuel load - no orbital construction, docking, refueling, kethane etc

4. Must show pictures - at the least the orbit

5. Be truthful and use common sense

Wow, that thing is just obscene.

I was about to try getting one of my larger ships into Minmus orbit when I noticed you'd already made the first entry. Mine would have been barely 100 tons.

By the way, how do you get that info in your screen displaying the mass of the craft? Is it part of a mod? I had just been adding up the part masses in the VAB and subtracting whatever fuel I'd burned, but that looks way easier.

Great job getting that much mass into Minmus orbit... I don't think I'm quite in that league

Just one of the many nice features of the MechJeb mod. Even if your not down with the automation, having it for the information is nice.

You should try it out... get that craft of yours to Minmus orbit, take a picture, and tell us the tonnage.
