What exactly is the RTX/Raytracing being used for?

Thats not a great metric for viewing the utilisation of a GPU, it doesn't give a great picture on what the GPU is doing.

I think (read as know) people jumped the gun when the original system requirements were released and the started at the 20XX series cards. But there has never been any real indication that RTX specific hardware was required for the game nor that ray traced graphics were involved.

The specs also listed AMD cards, so, very confusing why people assumed an RTX card was necessary...
