Remember on Monday, an Intelsat sattelite launches into orbit of the Earth with the launch provided by the International Launch Services.

Also, in regards to my forum here, I'm requesting moderators for anyone who wishes to sign up.

ISS News:

Later this month a manned mission on a Soyuz will be launching to the ISS to start a inbewteen period where there are two crews abourd the station. The Dragon Capsule should be un-berthing in a couple of weeks and coming back down to Earth with twice as much cargo as it brought up. On Halloween, a Progress mission will be launching to provide supplies which will be de-orbited next year sometime. Sometime later this year, an EVA should be coming up to do some work on the station.

That ascent and the jump was incredibly scary to look. But man, imagine the view that high up, before you jump. Few humans have experienced that first-hand.

Shortly after that there'll be a pretty major launch; a Naro-1 is going up, which'll be South Korea's first, assuming it works. It'll be historic as the first launch of a nation, and it's important because it uses a lot of tech from the Russian Angara, which will be badly delayed if the flight fails; the Russians plan to use it for their new crewed spacecraft, among other things.

I personally am also looking forward to the hilarious rhetoric we can expect from Pyongyang if it works.

Sounds interesting, I am looking forward to it.

The last theory I read is that they think the multiple flakes are from the sky crane.

They plan to zap one of the flakes with the laser soon to try and confirm this.

Sounds good, hope we get official confirmation soon and remember the launch to the ISS on Tuesday coming up.

News release about November 1 ISS Spacewalk.

NASA TO PREVIEW UPCOMING SPACE STATION SPACEWALK TO REPAIR AMMONIA LEAK

HOUSTON -- NASA will hold a news conference at 1 p.m. CDT (2 p.m. EDT)

Friday, Oct. 26, to preview an upcoming spacewalk involving U.S. and

Japanese astronauts aboard the International Space Station. The news

conference will be broadcast live on NASA Television from the

agency's Johnson Space Center in Houston. Media questions will be

taken by telephone and from other participating NASA locations.

Expedition 33 Commander Sunita Williams of NASA and Flight Engineer

Akihiko Hoshide of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency will

venture outside the space station Nov. 1 to repair an ammonia leak on

one of the station's port-side radiators. Ammonia is circulated

through the station's external thermal control systems to keep the

electronics and other systems cool.

The Oct. 26 news conference briefers are:

-- Michael Suffredini, International Space Station program manager

-- Mike Lammers, NASA flight director, Johnson Space Center

-- Allison Bolinger, spacewalk officer, Johnson Space Center

To participate by phone, media representatives must call the Johnson

newsroom 15 minutes before the briefing at 281-483-5111. Priority

will be given to journalists participating in person; questions by

phone will be taken as time permits.

NASA Television will provide live coverage of the spacewalk beginning

at 6:15 a.m. CDT Nov. 1. The spacewalk is scheduled to start at 7:15

a.m. and last approximately 6 hours and 30 minutes. This will be the

seventh spacewalk for Williams and the third for Hoshide. It will be

the 166th spacewalk in support of space station assembly and

maintenance.

We're probably looking at two launches tomorrow, Antares A-one attempt 2, and the Russian Bion-M biological research capsule. Both are already on the pad, and Bion has received it's full complement of passengers (mice, newts and geckoes). The Antares is looking somewhat doubtful due to weather conditions, but the chances of the russians delaying are practically nill. Bion is scheduled to go at about 10:00 GMT, and Antares at 21:00 GMT.

With Antares launched, the next orbital launches are a progress launch on the 24th, and two launches on the 26th; a chinese one with a civilian imaging sat, and a spare GLONASS sat for russia. We can expect live coverage of the prgress launch, and probably also of the chinese one, due to ecuador's first sat being one of the secondary payloads. In other news, we'll probably see the first powered flight from spaceshiptwo before the end of the month.
