Using symmetry on objects that are also placed on a vehicle using symmetry results in odd behavior.

  • Description of bug
    • When placing launch clamps using symmetry on solid rocket motors I attached using symmetry mode to a central tank it results in parts being placed "inside" the rocket.
    • Expected Behavior
      • Parts placed on the side boosters will be placed on all associated boosters placed with symmetry just like in KSP 1.
    • Observed Behavior
      • Parts are placed radially around all associated side boosters as if they are the central rocket.
    • Steps to Replicate
      • Attach any number of side boosters around a central rocket, turn on symmetry, and attack more parts to the boosters. Easiest to see with launch clamps since they stick out the bottom of the rocket.
  • Fixes / Workarounds: Make a side booster without using symmetry, then grab it by the "base" part such as a decoupler, then turn on symmetry and add boosters.
  • Mods: None
  • Other Notes:
    • Here is an imgur link with a visual since I'm not sure how to attach images otherwise https://imgur.com/a/KKUAh2H
    • This also occurs when attaching boosters to an extended radial decoupler
