Shift-middle click to translate camera

We have middle click on mouse to spin the camera such as in VAB.

My instincts keep wanting to shift-middle click to translate the camera.

Easy translation is needed for larger or non standard builds that benefit from being able to look not just at strange angles but strange viewpoints to place or edit parts.

You can center the camera by middle clicking on a rocket part. It's not exactly what you wanted but is does the job.

I'll have to try this, I've been centered on the cockpit and everything I tried to translate didnt seem to work. Thanks.
