Day 1 Trouble Observations

Recommended Posts

First time playing the game and have noticed a number of things that are in dire need of attention. I know that this is early access and do not expect it to blow KSP1 out of the water right away. But my hope is that the following observations will result in fixes thereof.

NOTE: This list is only stuff I have just experienced, but am certain that this is hardly conclusive.

  • No launcher. KSP1 launcher could provide feedback about awaiting updates.
  • Tracking station shows large amounts of debris and cannot be deleted.
  • Cannot switch to another vehicle after separating from it in orbit via tracking station.
  • Lack of Delta V info per stage (like KSP 1). I have had to make use of the infinite propellent feature due to not knowing my per tank delta V.
  • Calculated Delta V needed for trips should allow for selectable origin and destination.
  • Center of mass is so sensitive that most attempts to change AoA for gravity turns almost always result in out-of-control spins. Only minimal top loads can make it to orbit with out death-rolls.
  • Lack of dedicated docking interface to give more detailed perspective over docking maneuvers.
  • Auto-strutting appears to be virtually non-existent.
  • No thermal events ever occur. Re-entry or excessive acceleration during ascent.
  • SAS is completely broken in orbit. Vessels will begin gyrating until they self-destruct due to runaway over-corrections that cause excessive joint overstressing. Only way to prevent self-destruction is to turn off SAS and attempt to manually stop axial movement via RCS.

I have tons of faith in you guys! Being a developer myself, I know the pain, all too well, of the lengthy backlog that comes with the release of something new. Please let us know that these sorts of things will be addressed?

Thanks, Guys!
