kadenze
Orbits seem to be able to change randomly. I tried creating a geostationary satellite setup, but both one of my satellites and my host vehicle changed their orbits seemingly out of nowhere. I have a suspicion that it is due to the vessels burning fuel un-commanded, as when I checked back on the satellite after its orbit had changed, it was out of fuel and in a higher orbit than before. The host vehicle was also in a higher orbit than before, but didn't seem to drain as much fuel. Both the satellite and host vehicle are unmanned. I have managed to reproduce the bug by loading autosave twice; both times the fuel got drained. Most times it happened during time warp. It is highly possible that I am entirely stupid and simply left the throttle on or something of that nature, but it's unlikely. Above are the satellite's details; It was equipped with 570 m/s of dV, around 200 of which I used to circularise, and presumably 370 of it used to double the apoapsis height. I used time warp after undocking this satellite to warp my launch vehicle back around to its periapsis so that I could launch another satellite. This is when I noticed that the orbit had changed. Here is the launch vehicle; you can see in the previous map view with the satellite as focus that the orbit has increased. I managed to get a video of the one time it happened outside of time warp, here is that google drive link; https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mfsQjVbkdWUlI-xfOsrPBH9F4uSV0Y_Z/view?usp=share_link I have the launch build of KSP, no mods, and here are my specifications; i9-9900, RTX 2060, 32GB DDR4, the game is installed on a Seagate Barracuda hard drive, I use Windows Home N version 21H2. If the save file would be helpful I can edit with another drive link for it. Edited February 28, 2023 by kadenze
