Super low graphics mode. IE RETRO MODES!!

Recommended Posts

1. KSP1 graphics. Literally with updated game logic. Not sure if something make this impossible. Does anyone know. I would love to know out of curiosity.

2. Elite 80's graphics mode. Pure lines and space. Literally original old game graphics. Then the surface elements on Kerbal are not a problem. ;d

Is any of this possible?

elite even had color at some point:

then they could add an old text rpg interface from early games like maniac mansion and make some retro text games into KSP! 8)

That could make some fun stuff to do when you reach your destination. Or in the KSC. KSP murder mystery game!!! 8D

I don't think that this will help lower the minimum requirements, from what I understand the bulk workload done by the graphics card is to generate the planets and not actual render the visuals. This is why when you get away from every planet, you framerate goes up.

Not just get away, but look away too! I accomplish all my landings by in the end being in flight mode with a view looking up so no or little planet surface is in view. I just use the nav ball to keep an eye on the altitude and surface velocity. Decent frame rates can be had on and near planets if you just look up!
