How to put space stations in space?

Hi all,i was just wondering how do you guys put space stations in space?do i need a mod to do it,also is it possible to create stations on other planets,if so how.thanks all

You can build it in the assembly thing and just cheat it into space ;P or you can use rockets and launch the modules up into space a few at a time. You can then dock them together to assemble your station. Stations tend to be laggy though

You could launch the whole thing into orbit or just assemble them in orbit by docking.
