After testing the new moving stock fins I finally broke down and got C7's excellent parts. I made what I intended to be a high-altitude testbed. Well... I managed to hit orbital altitudes and velocities with the after goofing around a little bit (sadly no screens of said goofing around). Anyway, here she is on the pad. No it is not stable.

After launch it's recommended that you ditch the booster asap.

In order of Jeb-worthiness:

A ) On the tail using the engine to control descent rate.

B ) Belly land and ignore MissCon while they scream about 'Multi-Billion Dollar wrecks' or something like that.

C ) Jettison the capsule after burning all the fuel or having it go out of control. (This is how I 'land' it.)

Really it was more playing around with the new control surfaces, which made me realize I need a joystick.

Same, I currently have a (landable) space shuttle that I want to get into orbit. But my rockets keep tipping over. Although Jeb is happy, he is after some more prolonged fun...

Lots and lots of SAS modules, and lots and lots of R8 winglets on the bottom of your rocket, and a very light touch on your joystick.

I've managed to make a rather functional orbiter. It can launch to orbit, glide down, flare and land safely. Even on the new terrain. One trick I did was add a support from the pod to the fuselage adapter. That stopped the pod from snapping off during a jeb-worthy landing.

I'm really liking your designs though, good stuff
