Help landing on EVE.

Recommended Posts

Hi i've gotten a ship to match EVE's orbit very closely, however both our speeds are almost exactly the same so i'm not sure if I can ever catch up to EVE(or it catch up to me). How would I go about slowing my orbiting speed or doing some other orbital maneuver so that both of our paths cross eventually?

My usual Eve transfer tactic is to wait until Eve is about 60 degrees behind Kerbin (Imagine a line going from kerbin to the sun, then out to Eve, the angle is the the one between those angles)

Then I leave Kerbin's SOI and reduce my Solar Pe to intersect with Eve's orbit. Quicksave then slowly burn pro or retrograde until patched conics says I'll intercept.

Reduce/increase the size of your orbit if you want to travel faster/slower than the planet, identical orbits always have identical speeds.
