dansiegel30
Reported Version: v0.1.5 (latest) | Mods: none | Can replicate without mods? Yes OS: Win10 | CPU: Intel i7 10700 2.9GHz | GPU: NVIDIA 2060 Super | RAM: 16GB DDR4 After updating to 0.1.5 I decided to start a new campaign. I literally named the campaign "0.1.5", however I used the numpad for the numbers. Not looking at the screen while typing, I did not notice the MUTED AUDIO warning pop up and disappear after a second, nor did I notice the music stop. The campaign launched, and I assumed the audio was broken. I've tried this out in several situations, and the problem is that while in text input mode, such as typing in a save game name, a flag plant description, etc, the game quick keys for mute audio and mute music via NUMPAD are implemented at the same time as typing a 1 in a text box. This is certainly an oversight. If I am typing text in a place where I am allow, I should be able to use ANY key on the keyboard and all hotkeys should be temporarily disabled. If new users use the numpad to put a number in their first campaign name and accidently mute the audio, their first game will have no audio, they will be angry, and refund their purchase. I also noticed on 0.1.4 that when I had planted a flag, whenever I used the "M" key such as typing "Munar Landing", the M would bring me to the Map screen and not allow me to type the first letter of the sentence I had intended to write. I had mods on 0.1.4, so I'll put a hold on the M key issue, but the audio mute issue while typing in a text box is certainly real (I'll test it with only 1 mod on 0.1.5, Lazy Orbits, to easily get me to the Mun). Another issue with the audio mute is that it is bound to NUMPAD 1. However, it is WITHOUT regard to the NumLock status. If NumLock is on or off, Numpad 1 will mute the audio. The 1 key on the keyboard does nothing. This is a bit different than windows, and ANY other piece of software I have seen - use of the keyboard always takes NumLock into consideration. If NumLock is On, and I press 1, then 1 is used, indistinguishable from using 1 on the main keyboard. If Numlock is Off and I press 1, then END is resulted, just as if I used the standalone END key on the keyboard. I'm not expecting this to necessarily be addressed, but did not know if this was a design oversight or debatable design intent and therefore wanted to mention this as well. dansiegel30
More observations, however using lots of mods (Flight Plan and its accessories, MicroEngineer, and LazyOrbit) - the 1 Numpad key is no longer being accepted to mute audio in the Plant Flag window, however the "m" key while in the Plaque Text screen of the Flag Plant window continues to pop me out to the map immediately. As well, audio can still be muted at the very beginning, when starting a new campaign, and using the 1 Numpad key when typing in the name of your new campaign.
