Booster Decoupler Bugs?

Recommended Posts

Summary:

In the latest version of Kerbal Space Program 2, I have encountered an issue with the booster decouplers. They do not seem to be functioning correctly for me.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Use the 2 symmetry mode.

2. Attach three decouplers in line on the rocket core.

3. Attach a booster to the middle decoupler, centering it on that decoupler.

4. Strut the solid boosters.

5. Go to the launch pad.

Expected Behavior:

The booster decoupler should support or hold the booster to the core rocket and decouple it when triggered.

Actual Behavior:

When a decoupler is attached in 2 symmetry mode to the core rocket, the mirrored side that gets automatically built because of the symmetry mode seems to be unstable and not holding the booster correctly. Only one of the three mirrored decouplers holds the boosters; the others release immediately after going to the launch pad.

Additional Information:

The issue did not exist in the previous version of the game.

The issue is more likely to occur when using the mirror tool in the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) to attach boosters to decouplers.

When attaching boosters with the mirror tool enabled in the VAB and adding struts from booster to rocket, upon loading the rocket to the launch pad, the mirrored side booster seems to be partly detached and hanging only from one decoupler or struts.
