Lighting affects surface differently when high and low surface.

Example in video: Moho hole: When you are above surface shadows are not applied correctly but when you are in then surface correclty obstructs stellar light.

This same happens in Kerbin when flying planes, to behind mountains, surface might seem bright when flying high altitudes but closer you get it gets more accurate shadows.

This may lead for landings fail when game gives false information from altitudes.
