I know what overclocking can do to your pc. But i have good cooling system. So i was wondering, I can't fit my new video card. Will overclocking my cpu, Help kerbal space program with the lag? Because im going to get soon a cpu that has a better intergrated graphic card in it and will be able to play with about 70 parts. But Will overclocking my

Athlon 64 x2 3800+ 2.0 ghz processor make it less laggier? And will be able to keep up with all the updates.

I want to overclock it to about 2.5 ghz or 2.7. ghz

good luck using intergrated graphics

but if ur getting a new cpu , u must then be getting a new motherbaord

try looking for a motherboard with pci-e and the correct socket for ur new cpu

also dont bother getting a cpu or motherbaord with onboard grahics, they can just handle hd video not realtime graphics

buy graphics card ( spend atleast 200) and bam

practically the only way to boost ur fps dude, im sorry bright side if ur a good shopper u could get away with spending 500 overall for said parts

hope this helps(prob not)

Not entirely true about the CPUs with built-in GPUs. We've got a couple of machines running with the new AMD Llano processors, and they can handle Solidworks just fine without any separate graphics card. You don't necessarily need a new motherboard either, only if the socket is different (although you probably will need one upgrading from a processor that old, I got rid of mine 6 years ago!).

Im running up to 1400 parts With my phenom II @4ghz

I doubt that somehow, unless you mean at <1fps. I can't see you running more than 300-400 parts at 30fps, if that.

The last couple of generations of integrated graphics have really improved and while they're often still a poor choice for a primarily gaming machine they should be able to handle KSP fine if you're buying the CPU for something else.
