Bizarre Maneuver Node Bug

So whenever I pull on the maneuver node handles for any ship orientation, the orbit does not expand outward. Instead it expands inward in this really strange way like the maneuver is trapped within the orbit. Please see the pic in the link below. I restarted the game and it still does this. Maneuver node worked in the training center as expected, but still no luck in the main game.
Any one else seen this? Sure looks like a bad bug to me. Basically makes the game unplayable without maneuvers working.

Hoping desperately that I've just done something wrong and it's an easy fix.

I've had similar issues when transferring between fuel sources. I.E. methelox and hydrogen. Try seperate maneuver nodes for seperate fuels.
