KSP TK Announcement is a Joke

First, let me say I am emotional. So this post is likely inflected with emotions, less rationality.

That said, I gotta say, the way Take Two, IG, and KSP team handle any and all communications, from the lack of any good ongoing dev updates for KSP development all the way to this absolute chaotic mess of Take Two's "rationalizing it's pipeline" but failing to prep their studios to provide a proper parallel the announcement absolutely still leaves me skeptical about any possible good future communication from these companies.

It blows my MIND that marketing and execs couldn't prep their studio heads for these announcements so that the moment they broke, KSP would already have something ready to go to tell us it's still in development. What an absolute joke. The irreparable harm that has been done in the last 24 hours due to bad communication is staggering. Also to be VERY clear, it is NOT the communities fault that the company failed to advise us all. ANY community for any EA game with these issues would have reacted the same way, and has.

Anyways, let me know if you agree/disagree.

Yeah this is wild. The fact that neither NerdyMike nor Dakota was able to get ahead of this is damming. I mean, par the usual course with how communications and community interaction has generally been for this game. But wow, new levels.

It's clear that whatever is going on, it's a huge cluster behind the scenes. I think the community has every right to be skeptical of this "we're still working on it!" message. Best guess is that we might get the next patch and Colonies update out once they wrap up the details and then that'll be curtains.

This corporate announcement doesn't tell us much.  Someone somewhere is continuing to work on KSP2.   OK.  But clearly something major has happened, and the answer is "it's complicated", or official rumor control posts would have happened immediately.

Communities have very little effect on what's going on at a game studio.  Beyond submitting bug reports, and the general feeling of the community about whether a given feature is fun, the "community" is basically ignored.  The "positivity" or "negativity" of the forums doesn't affect anything meaningful except the mental health of the poor community managers.
