Animation working smooth in 3DS MAX, when I play the animation it spazzes.

Recommended Posts

So I'm making a shuttle mod, I have a "cargo doors" part, I have animated them to open. The animation works smoothly in 3ds max but upon import to unity one of the "doors" just plain spazzes out, while the other door works fine, I have tried everything to no avail.

These doors look as they should in 3ds max, in ksp they look like the image above.

Also, my collision boxes create a kind of black shroud around my parts if viewed from a certain angle, any fix?

How are you making the collider? If you're moulding a mesh collider over a model mesh then make sure you delete the mesh filter and mesh renderer components from the GameObject holding the collider component.

As to the animation, check all of your transformed are baked into the vertices. I'm not sure about 3dsmax but I know some other modelling programs will let you rotate an object without actually altering the model - data that isn't supported by unity/KSP.
