Game says hatch is obstructed but I can't find the reason

Recommended Posts

I loaded 3 kerbals into my Mun lander but now I can't get them out. It says hatch is obstructed. Had to fly an engineer up there to fix the issue but I don't see anything obstructing the hatch. Can anyone help?

Have 87 mods installed. Really hoping there is an easy fix before I start combing through them and uploading logs here.

Is the hatch still obstructed if you click on the hatch itself and try to EVA the crew from there rather than the portraits in the bottom right?

Are the Kerbals actually in the part you think they're in? I've done that before...

Can they EVA if you move them to a different part e.g. the capsule?

I'm going to guess the top hatch is blocked.

As for the side one,, my best guess is either

  1. The game is ignoring it in favour of the top one, so either use the side port's dropdown or EVA with FreeIva
  2. The structural tube is the part blocking the side hatch

You should check the  hatches on the part on its own too (launch just pod from KSC) - that will tell you if the config is broken or the lander itself is.

I found the culprit:

Apparently the scanning range of that arm is enough to interfere with the hatch. Removing that solved my problem.
Thanks for the help :)
