umbra humanus
Lately I have gotten bored with normal ksp. Honestly I wanted to try something different. So I decided to do a ksp career mode with Whirligig World. In KSP Whirligig World you are placed on a homeworld with no atmosphere, 1.3 gs of gravity, and a 28 minute day/night cycle. Luckily you are given probes to start with. Quote Here is an image of the first Launch of Mesbin on the Launchpad. This launch managed to get up to around 15km before crashing down to Mesbin. On this launch I forgot to bring an antenna. Oh well Quote This launch I remembered to bring an antenna, and after launching this successfully I managed to get 20 science. In between Mesbin One, and Mesbin Two, I Put a command pod on the pad, and collected science reports with Bob Kerman. umbra humanus
After that I attempted to gain some high altitude science. Quote Unfortunately I did not manage to get to space high above Mesbin.
umbra humanus
Part: Three Quote After the failure of the previous missions I decided that there was no more to do but to go to orbit. Unfortunately this attempt failed to reach orbit. I realised that I had done a gravity turn the wrong way, which on Mesbin is fatal to any mission. The early probe cores of of Whirligig world have no precise controls, so I had to rely on the SAS controls. So I attached a sepratron to the side of the rocket, and fired it. This worked, sending the rocket going on the correct trajectory. The image above is hte craft in orbit. The image below is Kerbmun setting below the horizon. umbra humanus
Part 4: Money Making Quote After the success of the first orbital mission I decided to make some money to try to upgrade the VAB. But before that I decided to send the first Kerbal out of Mesbin's thin atmosphere. This is how it ended: I landed it a bit hard, but Jeb did not die, and all of the experiments were safe so it was a success. After that success I decided to make some money by testing engines: Unfortunately it fell over. After that I got a contract to gather science from space around Mesbin. So I went back to Orbital 1, which still had unused science experiments on it. After that I got a contract to test yet more engines, and to haul some landing gear into flight above Mesbin. I had forgotten to turn on Sas sending Valentina crashing to the ground. After that "successful" launch I collected more contracts, including one which asked me to test some launch clamps, and to haul a heatshield into flight above Mesbin. As Bill Kerman, being an engineer does not have Sas authority, the rocket anded up tilting to the side, which caused one of the fuel tanks to hit the launch clamp, causing the rocket to spiral out of control thus causing it to crash. The only things remaining after the crash were the command pod, and a fuel tank. P.S ignore the landing gear. The contract for the landing gear did not complete, so I put them on this one, which completed the contract.

TheKspEngineer
I'm just curious, why are you using quotes like spoilers? Anyways cool report looking forward for more.

umbra humanus
Part Five: Space Tourism Quote After the success of the last missions I went, and upgraded the VAB shortly before realizing that the launch pad was the one, I needed to upgrade to increase the weight limit. So I did what I was inevitably going to have to do, and grabbed another contract. This contract was to gather science data from space around Mesbin. So I went back to Orbital One: After realizing that doing twenty tests, likenI did last time was going to be long and tedious, I excepted some tourism contracts: For some reason, there are tourists willing to pay 20,000 funds to go on a 5,000 fund rocket, which has a 50% chance of lithobraking rather violently onto the surface, in a space program that is only four hours old: As you can see in the image above, the craft design has changed significantly. This was bacause the landing gear kept clipping through the surface on landing, flipping the spacecraft 10 meters into the air. So I reverted, and replaced the landing gear with fuel tanks. Here it is on the launchpad with another tourist(above). Unfortunately I do not have any pictures of the previous tourist vessel landed. Here it is landed(although it did break a fuel tank) (above). After that I got another orbital science contract, so I went to Orbital One, and collected the science data. After that I got a contract to test the kicback booster on the launchpad: After that mission I got another orbital science contract: I also got a contract to test a heatshield on the launchpad:
umbra humanus
Part Five: Exploring New Frontiers Quote After the previous mission I decided to try to return from orbit. I ended up lithobraking into the ground I decided that I needed to do some science, and unlock some more advanced probe cores. So I upgraded the astronaut complex, and decided to do an EVA. I also decided to have a tourist on board to make extra money: In this image is Jeb getting out and doing an eva report probably almost giving the tourist a heart attack in the process(Jeb being Jeb): Jebediah Kerman's stunt left the rocket listing to the side, and I did not correct in time so I had to do a late suicide burn. Miraculously bothe survived though the tourist did not pay, because the landing was so hard that he passed out: After that I got another contract to gather science data from space around Mesbin thus causing me to revisit Orbital One: After that I unlocked the science junior, and did some more tourist missions with the science junior attached, in order to collect more science, and having funds to boot: After collecting all of that science I had unlocked the more advanced probe core with more manueverability. Thus it was time to go to orbit and return. Here are all of my prototype rocket attempts: Here are the images of my successful orbit and return attempt: On this landing only the probe core survived, but it still counted for the contract: After that I got a contract to EVA in space around Mesbin. This time I learned from my mistakes, and had two pilots on board: After that I decided to go to Graymun. Unfortunately I could only transmit One experiment, because I did not pack enough EC, and solar panels in this mod are a bit buggy. Also I find it quite odd that Graymun, despite it's size has such a small SOI. Here is a bad picture of my craft in space near Graymun: Graymun is very similar to the Mun. In the next part of this mission report I will visit Thresomin. Quote I'm just curious, why are you using quotes like spoilers? I accidentally put text outside of the quote, and was too lazy to correct it. Apologies. Forum merged my last two replies.
