[0.23] Version 0.05 sfr Command Pod with internal parts and crew visible, new color

sfr

With module manager there should be, I am about to look at that possibility myself :)

Did a quick check, it LOOKS at first glance like this functionality should be possible, but I'm in the midst of a de-orbit, so I can't really apply the change and go check.

In the part.cfg, there are two modules:

INTERNAL

{

name = sfrPo-2Internal

}

and

MODULE

{

name = sfrInternal

}

Unless I miss my (mostly un-educated) guess, the INTERNAL portion defines which pit internal to use, and the MODULE portion references the code on the rest of the plugin. Feel free to correct me if I am mistaken!

I always seem to miss this being a working mod :( On the plus side I have been implementing Raster Prop Monitor with enormous success! I have found that Mihara is also both prolific as a modder and omni present on this site so I kinda feel safe using that one to basically do what this one does...

I don't even know if that made any sense - Don't get me wrong, sfr's is the original and I bow to it with respect but it is harder to work with than the (brand spanking new) alternative.

fyi - having a visible pit scene is reliant on the position of the pit scene, afaik most (not all) of the stock IVA do not line up properly so it looks rank (the basic command pod IVA is actually bigger than the model!) - that is assuming there is a window to look through as well...

You're quite right. I've managed to get it to sort of work for other parts. The part model has to have holes in it to see through, and an interior that fits with it. Then you just need to add the

sfrInternal
module section to the part's cfg file. It works for the Firespitter bomber cockpit, except that all the surfaces are doubled, leading to an unpleasant flickering effect - but you can see the crew inside, all the same. I may try cutting the mesh up to make an SFR-friendly version.

Creating an internal with no pixels - just a seat marker - may be this mod's best friend.
