Great optimized, great looking and stylish parts - this is what we needed all the time.

This pack is must have, anyway.

Lack, you have a rare sense of propotion.

Too be more greater )) there must be some kind of decorative structures on plain surfaces of fuselage parts - in style of Mk* cabins.

And lights, more lights ))

Any thoughts on ranges for the LLL antenna/dishes to use with RT2? I'm happy to put a MM config together.

Vrana has put together the best part of it with the closest stock values. I'm working this weekend so I was going to fiddle with it a bit more during the week, for the omni I was going to work on the assumption that a x2 increase in range would require x4 the size and x8 the power-consumption, since even the longest of the comms parts is only a bit longer than the RT Communitron 64 it should avoid anything ridiculous and unbalanced.

Actually, if you could put together values for the various LLL probes that would be really helpful.

Hey Lack, any plans for more science parts? Or anything that isn't fuselages?

Things like your truck cab and the satellite dish are just absolutely ballin' and I want more of them.

Hadn't given it a great deal of thought really. Had considered adding some wee little yellow truck bodies (similar to the stock fuel and cargo transporters that skid around the VAB) to match the truck cab. I also said I'd make a basic little cryo pod, but never got round to it.

BTW - I can confirm that the docking adapter change has made a difference for the better in terms of lag. It's a lot better now.

Well i'm back after several months. Looks like LLL has made some amazing progress! however after DLing the version 10-6 i can't find the wheel housings! :( Where might they be?

*EDIT* found em, sorry.

P.S i say this post a while ago http://imgur.com/a/GKkcy and am curious whether those LLL panels were placed there using KAS or not? And how to do it myself :)

Nice to see you back, have a good few months? The increased KAS compatibility will come out with 10.7, probably sometime this week.

In the mean time you can just add the KAS module into the .cfg for the plates (found in LLL/Parts/Structural/LLL2x1to2-5mNew/Plates.cfg)

But now that i'm back i've managed to make the beginings of my new munbase combining both LLL and KAS. (and my space station)

Haha yeah, i thought i'd try out the cargo bay. Probably going to use it in my larger landers, to drop rovers down.

I've also been playing around with an optional 'LLL-Extra' folder, which will just be a dumping ground for things I find useful, but doesn't necessarily deserve a place in the main LLL download (since I've made LLL primarily for personal use, I do tend to end up with a few insane things that probably aren't needed for most people). Mucking around with 4x4 fuel tanks for example.

If it's for sort of "one-off" mods and things that are simple modifications of existing parts that don't have a use elsewhere, then can I make a simple request?

You know the Eagle Pods that I've made? Well there's plenty of examples of times when I want to make pods out of multiple sections - like the Kethane pod. But I was thinking it would be great if the simple Passenger pod could be made out of a single object instead of using two 2x1 hull sections tied together in the middle by the 2x1 thin engine fairing. It would make it stronger and reduce the part count significantly (cause I've found that it's necessary to put struts between the two halves to shore up the structural integrity).

If there's a way to code that in the CFG that doesn't involve a full mod, like just stretching the proportions (like with the Eagle Windows that you made) then what's the value I should stretch the length for to make the precise length I'm looking for? (Or would that distort the panel lines and other details too much?)

Lack, could you try making some landing skids? Perhaps some legs that you could put on the underside of a ship that would retract out?

these are VERY nice skids. all they need are tech nodes.(and maybe some PART modules). Perhaps a color change too.

Yeah, you can stretch and weld parts together easily enough in the .cfg (just remember to keep a calculator handy). I'll have a play around with it now.

I'd recommend the skis Galacticruler has posted, but I had planned with trying my hand at landing gear at some point.

EDIT:

There's a quick config, manages to fit the Eagle well. Nodes are placed to attach the CBMs, with enough room for them at either side and close enough that they'll attach to the CBMs on the Eagle on launch.

You can take the windows off easy enough, just remove the relevant MODEL{} (model = LLL/Parts/Utility/LLLWindowlong/Eaglewindow).

Turns out making skids is a lot harder than I thought (trying to use the landing gear set up in Unity, so far I've figured out the whole layers 26/27 nonsense, but it's still not great). Currently they sort of work, but there's a 90% chance the wings will fall off and about a 95% you'll explode if you try a horizontal landing.

Love the pics, Lack. Seems like good progress. Perhaps in the future you could make them telescopic?

Maybe you could get the help of " Adie123 ", Who made these Telscopic Suspension legs:

Oh you can already extend and retract them and I think the suspension works a bit, it's just trying to make it act as a properly as a wheel (Sort of done, but it tends to explode too much).

Hey Lack, do any of your Hull parts allow for crew? I know I can just check that but I'm not on my KSP computer and just had this interesting idea...

Also- Am I right in assuming the corridor and extendible berthing ports can be used for docking?

Yes, they nearly all do (just not IVA, but they're there if you use Vanguard or Crew Manifest) and yes, they both use 'size1' docking nodes.

Seem to have got the skids almost done, just needed to play around with the collider sizes. But managed to muck up the extend/retract animation is the process, 'doh.

Awesome... Also, how would skids work? I'm assuming they're for VTOLs, right?

At the moment, they'll essentially function like landing gear. I'll probably make a designated landing leg using this at some point.

Problem with the retract/extend seems to be due to the suspension part, messing around with the wheel collider in the animation to see if I can get it to work properly.
