Can someone tell me how to build one of these trucks?

I made a thread on the video below and downloaded the mods used in it. I'm now wondering how to build the truck shown at the beginning. I'm trying to connect structural parts together but since the connection points are only on the ends, it seems like it's impossible to even make a simple square or 90 degree angle. Can someone post a screen shot on how to connect structural pieces with 90 degree angles and such. Or just how to start building something like the truck in the video by starting the base framework he used?

Disable Angle Snap (press C) and the girders should attach nicely to each other. As for that truck in particular, I dunno.

oooooooohhhhhh fail. So once that's disabled, I can snap pieces in angles and it will know it's "connected"?

It is actually. I'm just having trouble putting it together but I'm gonna try the trick mentioned above when I have time to see if that helps.
