What mods to use...

I am planning on grand tour mother ship that does not need to refuel to land 3 kerbals on all planetary surfaces without refueling. Before I start I want to pick out a set of mods for use in this en-devour. I have used more than a few mods and some I like and some I don't, my main focus here is adding flexibility to the look and design of the vessels, and reduce part count without using highly unbalanced parts. Considering the amount of flying involved mods that improve the interface with more data and planning features or add atmosphere to inflight are wanted.

Below is a list of mods I am considering for use, please comment and suggest more that are similar.

KSPX parts expansion

KW Rocketry

Lack Luster Labs

B9 aerospace 2.5

RLA Stockalike (Just for the radial attachment points, the rcs blocks give me trouble)

Improved Trusses

Docking Struts

Kerbal attachment system

ISA Mapsat

Haystack

Maneuver node improvement

Alarm Clock

Chatterer

Mech Jeb

You can significantly reduce the mass you have to take along if you get the Kethane pack. Being able to refuel mid-flight via mining is a benefit that you'd otherwise have to wait for 0.20 to get in on the action with.

He doesn't want to refuel. :P

I'd suggest the Part Generator for making some ridiculously large fuel tanks to keep the part count down. You can even create them empty if you're planning on launching everything from Kerbin for orbital assembly and fuel up.

Have you created a delta V map for this grand journey? I definitely don't envy you the burn times you're going to have to sit through.

My Delta V Plan is the mother ship will only do planetary transfers and stay in the largest eccentric orbit that will never hit a moon and then launch smaller 2 part landers with an orbital and landing/ascending section. If my math is right the main ship only needs 20k delta v though it will be pushing extra dead weight in parts and fuel not used for it.
