It is a mod: Subassembly saver

You build something (a spaceplane, a rocket stage, ???) and you want to save it for later use You drop it to this jigsaw puzzle button and it is saved !

Then click on the button again to load a previous saved part.

It is a very handy mod called Subassembly Loader. It is available under the plugin-mod section. It allows you to save parts of your designs, for instance an entire launch vehicle, and add it to another design. It saves huge amounts of time for people like me who use the same rockets over and over and over again because we perfected our designs.

Highly recommended!

So basically, whenever I'm looking at other people's screenshots in the VAB, I notice that next to their save, load, launch and back icons, they've got a pink icon with a picture of a jigsaw puzzle on it. I don't have this. I'm using 0.19.1, so it's not my version - is it a mod, or has my game downloaded wrong?

It's a mod, I think its called KSP Part Tool, not 100% sure and I can't seem to find it on the Spaceport anymore.

So far, Subassembly Saver is the only mod I have installed. I'm one of those mod-phobic people, but this kind of functionality I can totally get behind.

Does exactly what it says. Only complaint I have is that the UI could use a bit of polish, and that is a very minor one.
