Where are my Kerbals?

Hi,

When I played the demo I had Kerbal portraits in the lower right corner of the screen. I installed the full game and....no Kerbals.

Also, I have no launch tower. Have these things just changed or am I missing something?

Depends what kind of pod you started with. If it's the unmanned pod, no kerbal portraits will show up.

Launch tower was removed in 0.19 and demo on purpose due to too many rockets crashing into it when loading up.

I'm using the command pod MK1

It doesn't seem to matter what I use, no kerbals.

Did you install the full game over the demo? If so I would try installing to an empty folder.. And if you have mods, add them back one at a time to see if its a mod conflict issue.

I deleted the demo before unzipping the game file. No mods. I thought maybe this was a case where I had the kerbal portrait window toggled off, but I guess not.

Weird. Are you sure you didn't use a probe as your command module? Even if you put manned probes on after that, they will be empty. A manned pod needs to be the first thing you choose.

Or maybe you hit F2. But that hides all GUI (hit it anytime to toggle).

Or maybe the game thinks your screen is wider than it is and your view area is cropped. But then you'd probably be missing some other stuff, too.

I downloaded the game file again, just because, and unzipped it into a different folder. Ran the game from there and now I have the kerbals.

Still no idea why it wasn't working before.....
