EVE 2013: A Manned One-Way Trip to Eve

(Since the "Mission Reports" section was nowhere to be found since "it" happened, and this is anyway related to Kerbal Space Program in general, I'll be posting this here, until a dev/mod decides to move it somewhere else)

MAIN OBJECTIVES:

Establish a permanent base on Eve and send kerbals on a one-way trip there before 2014.

MISSION PLANNING:

Due to the nature of Eve's atmosphere, powered and ultra-precision landings are already ruled out to be an option. All of the components must either be lifted to Kerbin Orbit and transferred to Eve AT ONCE, or have them launched one by one to be docked in Kerbin Orbit and to be transferred to Eve in one piece. Both can use newly-developed hardware, but the latter option can reuse some hardware currently in-use in Project Regulus Mission, with little to no modification. The crew is then to be loaded in orbit and have the ship refuelled before leaving for Eve.

Once arrived, the craft will then make one or more aerobraking maneuver(s) to put it in a stable orbit around Eve, to have time to select for the landing site. The craft will then start to deorbit, have its modules separated after, parachutes open, then freefall to the surface. Mission Accomplished!

TENTATIVE HARDWARE LIST:

-3 or 4 separate Habitation Modules (4 or 3 kerbals each, respectively), or one 12-kerbal Hab Module (technology from Project Regulus)

-1 two-person rover (Modified Caterpillar, stowable version)

-1 beacon tower

-1 supplementary probe (also stowed on the craft, to be left in orbit)

Some free-fall multiple module drop tests have been conducted on Kerbin, with some success.

FEASIBILITY:

Totally possible, doable with current technology.

SUCCESS RATE:

-91%, variable outcomes.
