What Parts and Addons do you want to see made?

Greetings everyone!

I made a thread a few weeks ago called Greebles and Doodads, and from the responses I got it seems like there are big areas in the add-on supply that are left untouched.

Some ideas for part packs require programming, something I'm not too good with, so if there is anyone out there who would like to collaborate with me on something, then that would be awesome too.

Now I have a few weeks/months to kill while i look for a job, so I'm looking for things to practice my 3d Art on and i would love it if i could benefit people with these pieces.

So please folks, I would love suggestions for items and such!

Note that these parts will be custom items, As i do not like building other peoples creations (I mean like building Anakins podracer, instead i will build parts that look like they fit a podracer)

These parts will also follow the same general theme as stock parts.

EDIT: WHAT IF you remade models that look like the OLD stock parts, but with better textures.

Thats the idea , And thanks for reminding me, I'll add that to the main post.

I'm also playing around with a hovercraft concept, Where the hovercraft will change its friction with the ground based on velosity and air intake, this would have issues with going on water, but i think its possible to write a small plugin that will work.

Shrogg, would you consider joining our new conglomerate? Gregrox Inc, RobertCo, and ShroogTech? It'd be nice to have someone who knows what he's doing to help us along. Me and Roberto already have some concepts, including conceptual art, but I've never been a texture artist (Aside from in Minecraft), and I have yet to see how good Roberto is at his 3D modeling job.

Thats a very cool idea! Ill have to work out how to do the animation for the expanding with fuel (Possibly animate up/down a frame for every unit of fuel?

What about plumbing type pipes?

If someone wants to build a fueling station or off world fuel refinery.

You don't need a lot of parts maybe just a long and short straight section, a 90 degree bend, a four way connection and possibly a non functioning piece that looks like a pump.

Then just use them like the girder pieces.

I would love some more compact Nuclear engines and reverse thrust engines would be amazing! And finally, if it isn't too much bother, more "chassis" type pieces for ships, spacecraft, rovers, airships ect. Love your work btw!

Cabins and solar panels. It gets boring making a station when you keep using the same solar panels and crew cabins over and over again. Having parts that are made to work with each other would be awesome. Like a set of solar panels that are made to only go on the science laboratory, etc.

Walker Legs. Though i'm guessing that would be really difficult as the vehicles centre of gravity would have to adjust over whichever legs were on the ground at that point.

Boat parts so we can create ships that function nothing massive but enough to hold a helicopter or something and a vehicle so we can launch missions to recover downed probes and Kerbals.

I would like to get that light part you did, along with a couple of other colors (red and green), and maybe a dimmer (less bright) white light. That's one thing the game is missing - marker lights and ambient lights.

Aircraft parts

There are a few nice looking aeroplane packs. BUT i have a few ideas for wings and fuselages that would look pretty vanilla...

Ill sketch up some concepts tomorrow for that..

Hmmm. They would be hard to use. Making them would be pretty simple (I think?) Just need to loop and halt an animation. I may test that out at some point.

Boats

as far as i know, there is already a boat addon pack, and im unsure as to the methods people use to make boats that actually work.

Also, Flags will be in vanilla KSP next update.

Diferent Lights

Having many lights on a ship can cause amazing amounts of lag (Just ran some tests)

So i guess i could make a "Lights and glowy bits" pack, one called High Performance and one for Low performance (second one emitting no light, just the glow of the lamps)

Ill get started on that tomorrow.

You can have lights glow without emitting light? That would be cool just to use as "marker lamps" so you can see how the ship is oriented when it's dark. Considering I'm currently using the stock lights plus the tiny spotlights from the SPACETECH escape pod as accent lights, I can't wait to see these lights when they're ready.

Oh, yeah. Duh. So, yeah, some marker lights that only glow, plus some accent lights that actually emit light and light other parts would be awesome.

Is the prototype light you made downloadable yet?

Oh - another part that would be cool: a folding strut. What I specifically have in mind is something that is radial mounted, so that the strut is flush against the hull (like the landing gear). When activated, it would rotate out so it's perpendicular to the hull, and it would telescope to double length. It would be sized like the small struts, and it would have a small node on the end to attach parts. This would allow a satellite or whatever to be fairly compact at launch, and then it could extend antennas or sensors or whatever away from the probe body once it reaches orbit.
