Determining Inclination?

Recommended Posts

Hey all, I'm just wondering if there's a way to determine the inclination of your projected orbit (not current orbit). I'm trying to get to around 88 deg for mapping purposes, and my current orbital inclination is around 94 deg. I don't have a protractor laying around that I could hold up to the monitor, so I'm really hoping that there's an in-game way.

I've got MechJeb, and while Protractor certainly seems useful, it's not what I need. I think there was a misunderstanding, or perhaps I wasn't quite clear. Lemme try again. Right now, I'm in orbit around Minimus. My orbital angle is ~94 deg. I want to get it to ~88 deg. So, when I'm plotting a course by putting down a node, is there a way to see the angle of my projected path? That is, the angle of the dotted orange line. Sorry, not entirely up on the terminology, and if Protractor does indeed do that, then my bad.

Try moving your angle to 96° instead of 88°, same orbit, (mostly), but less ÃŽâ€V required. and use Mechjeb 2 to plot the 96° inclination.

Meh, that would require foresight and planning. As far as I can gather, that's not the Kerbals' way. I managed to get my inclination to 88 deg, I just had to look at the orbital info window, burned normal, then antinormal, and I was on target. An easy fix. That I didn't figure it out on my own makes me feel kinda simple...
