creating new parts or editing existing ones in the new demo

So in the previous versions of the demo, you could edit the parts and create new ones by simply going in and editing the config file. But now, I can't do that. I haven't read anything about it, so i was wondering if anyone could help me. Thanks guys!

The demo is limited so that mods (or cfg edits) don't work. You need to purchase the full game if you want to mod it.

I think new parts may work, but mods that require plugins (custom code compiled into a DLL file) won't work.

Ok, thanks. So you cant even edit existing parts?

You can edit parts. I'm constantly tinkering around with re-sizing, and changing the values of various engine specs.

Assuming you know where your installation directory is, you can go to /Parts and rummage around in there. Parts have a standardized part.cfg file in cleartext that can be edited.

Here is an index of part config parameters. Just be sure to back up your original parts first.

thats how i did it in the old demo. I just wasnt sure if it was working anymore.
