(series) GORP lifters

is proud pleased honored here to present to you a series of lifters to put your stuff into orbit! Focus on your payload, we have the pushy end all taken care of!

With the lineup of Generic Orbital Resupply Probe vehicles, abbreviated to GORP, your lifting needs are safely demonstrably in-hand! The GORP series is developed from the mindset that your payload is precious, and shout not be 'touched' until it has to be. To that end, each GORP will lift the designated payload to at least 100km circular Kerbin orbit with additional fuel for a few hundred m/sec Delta-V for manuevering, as well as RCS for essential orientation and rendezvous/docking. As a perk, most if not all debris will return to Kerbin, keeping your space tidier!

All designs are MechJeb-tested and MechJeb-friendly, for those who choose to defer piloting responsibility to automata.

Naming convention: (example) "GORPx03S IV"

  • GORP -> family/series of rocket to which it belongs.
  • a -> type of command module. For example, the x here indicates a MK2 cockpit
  • 03 -> Approximate maximum allowable mass in tonnes of the payload, at least for nominal flight.
  • S -> A suffix indicates various attributes of the rocket. (A) -> jet engines, (M) -> minimalist/efficient design, (S) -> SSTO design. Other suffixes may be added in time.
  • IV -> Roman numeral indicating which version of this model. IV, in this example, describes the fourth variant. Causes for a new version may be updating to different KSP release, tweak in the design, change of command module, or others. (Lack of numeral denotes original variant.)

An air-breathing lifter, this spunky little rocket will put 6 tonnes into medium Kerbin orbit with a full FL-T400 tank and RCS for orbital maneuvers!

As always, strutting your payloads is your responsibility...

A solid piece of win, this standby will put nine tonnes (possibly ten if you are a very skilled pilot) into medium Kerbin orbit with a full FL-T400 tank and RCS for orbital maneuvers.

Please strut responsibly!

A lifter pushing the reasonable boundaries for one-meter hulls, this jet-assisted tower will haul twenty (that's 20) tonnes of whatever you could desire into medium Kerbin orbit with a full FL-T400 tank and RCS for orbital maneuvers.

KwirkyJ Flailing Industries is not responsible for luggage shifting during flight.

Migrating to the two-meter hulls, this lifter, however inelegant, will lug forty tonnes into medium Kerbin orbit with a few hundred m/s of delta-V and RCS for orbital maneuvering.

There is now a consequence for failing to strut: an unsatisfactory mark on your official permanent flight record, followed by vehicle disintegration.
