Finally!

Attempt after attempt I finally got a successful dock. I took the advice of "taking it slow" a bit further than was intended (I ran the target velocity down to .2m/s 1km out). It took a while to get there but I was so tired of coming in at speeds I see some of the tutorials (50m/s or more up to 1k) thinking I was going to be okay only to not be able to slow down in time and watching the other ship pass me by (queue over corrections)....anyhow...now that I've actually been able to pull it off I dont feel quite as noobish :P

Hair-raising experience, isn't it? :D Now imagine the situation in which you have to turn your ship around, move backwards and thread the target vessel between four long, radially attached engine nacelles. Even with MechJeb helping i had dry mouth. Not the best design of interplanetary tug i could come with.

I'm just practicing with my current setup for a while while suppressing the desire to attempt something on a larger scale...I think that would just end up frustrating me...let alone thinking about what your talking about :P

Congrats! post a picture!!

Another case of learning...the default key for screenshot in KSP didn't take a single pic...had the same problem with the key for fine controls being mapped to caps lock by default...no matter how many times I hit caps lock on my mac...ended up remapping it to ~ another key to remap lol

Congrats!

I spent the last couple of days trying to dock to my station Kerlab 1... I also took it very slowly and precisely. Got perfectly aligned and tried to dock and then realized Kerlabs dockin port is installed upside down. Awesome feeling that after 5+ hrs of real-life maneuvering im less than a meter from my station and can´t dock because some idiot engineer ( ME) at VAB messed up :). But I learned from that and now my new Kerlab 2 is orbiting at 113 km and waiting for its first crew. This game is just amazing!
