Different Pilots

Is there a way to change which pilot you get everytime you fly a craft? Seems I have been stuck with Thomwig for quite awhile and would like to give other pilots some "air" time.

Would be nice to be able to choose which Kerbal will fly a particular craft before you go to the launchpad. Unless I'm missing something?

Also, I wonder if there's a comprehensive list of all the Kerbals names?

Crash him. Once he's dead, you'll get a new one...

Alternatively, just land him somewhere or leave him in orbit without ending the flight and launch another mission.

Or you can use the Crew Manifest mod.

Seems too bad you have to kill or maroon a pilot just to get a different one. Don't you think?

KSP isn't finished yet. Crew roster management is scheduled for a later update.

And you don't have to maroon them, just send them on a long duration mission and bring them back later.

Crew Manifest mod allows you to select your crew.

Open up the save file and open the persistance file with notepad, scroll down to crew, scroll to thomwig or any pilot. And change the part that says "state = 1 or 2" to "state = 3"

This will change it so the game will think that the pilot is dead and give you a new pilot.

You can also change it from 3 to 1 if you want to resurrect the pilot.

Crew Manifest is what you're looking for. It allows you to replace Kerbals with others while they are on the runway/launchpad. And, it has other added features, such as allowing crew to transfer between craft without going into EVA + making your own Kerbals!

Currently? Nothing. Eventually? Well, we can speculate (probably affects how well they fly/their flight style once Kerbals can be given actual tasks), but I don't think we have any official word on that just yet...
