Vehicle Help

Pluto100

Recommended Posts

Hello! My name is Pluto100, and I need your help. I've been trying to create a good launcher & interplanetary transfer vehicle, but I can never get it to where I need it. So, I'm asking you, the community, to help me out here. I thank you very much for your help! :D

Transfer Vehicle Requirements:

At least 5000 M/S worth of DV,

Space for a probe,

and able to get to Jool & beyond.

Launcher Requirements:

Able to achieve orbit,

Fast & lightweight,

and able to not explode :P.

Thank you! I am eternally grateful :P.

P.S: Sorry if this is in the wrong area.

I would go for something like this:

Craft file: https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=384BA28C8578E539!153&authkey=!ANnhdE6B2yV1grA

34 tons on the pad, provides 6000m/s DeltaV in space a minimum of 6m/s² acceleration for a probe of approximately 1 ton.

The 200L fuel tank above the decoupler is taking the place of the payload, delete it before use. It may wobble a little but it's perfectly flyable, if the wobble bothers you just add a strut or two.

Here's my ol' standby interplanetary rocket:

It can get pretty heavy payloads to orbit. The transfer stage has 5623 m/s of Dv innit. I'm considering using the docking port blanks instead of the aero tailpieces for the nuclear engine mounts, as they're lighter, but these look so cool!

Does it have to be stock? I have a Rocket that might meet those criteria, but it needs the "RLA MMRTG" part/mod.

It carries about 2 tons and has around 7200Dv (assuming max payload weight, with no payload it's closer to 8000Dv), though it doesn't turn all that fast.

Haven't tried going to Jool yet, but I assume it could get there.

Thanks! I'll probably use this for my missions :D. Thank you!

Sorry I forgot to mention stock/non stock! But yes, any mods are fine. Thank you! :D

Woah, that's a nice ship :)! Hmm... I'll have to think about using that for my Eeloo ones.

Thank you all so much for this help! :)
