Mission Log: Levelord's VTOL adventures (Image heavy)

Furthering the craft designed in http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/24734-Amphibious-VTOLSSTO-%28Image-heavy%29 I've embarked on an adventure since the forum restart.

The VTOLSSTO was a craft specifically designed for long distance Laythe exploration. Recently, two Kerbals; Hanson and Jerwin Kerman, were left stranded on Duna after realizing there was not enough fuel in their lander to return to orbit. They slept for years, next to a menacing face on Duna's surface, apparently watching them sleep, and whispering quiet suggestions of murder.

Back on Kerbin, the VTOL craft was redesigned into a bus version to rescue the stranded Kerbals and sent off in it's hyperspace ring with Jorlo Kerman at the helm.

Hopefully we've arrived in time before the Kerbals murder each other.

Jorlo lands safely, and performs a brief psychological examination on the Kerbals. They are shaken, but seem sane (according to Kerbal standards). They've reported strange voices coming from the Duna face statue. Jorlo can't see the resemblance of a face in the crater. To him, it looks like a Kerbal lady's torso.

The Kerbals board, and after a brief flight check, they depart. There were reports of a quiet voice.... Apparently phrasing the sentence "don't leaveee meeeee".

With an orbit reached, they rendezvous with the waiting hyperspace ring to take them home.

Within the Kerbal system, Jorlo performs an aerobrake procedure, to leave the ring in space. KSC plans to re-fuel the ring later for another mission. Once a stable orbit was reached, the plane undocks, and prepares for it's descent.

After some flight time, the Kerbals managed to land the plane safely. Jorlo proudly steps out and poses for a heroic photo shoot, the Kerbal that miraculously saved lives. Hanson and Jerwin unfortunately suffered a mental breakdown 2 weeks later and spent the next 3 years in psychiatric care.

thats really cool! the design for the bus and the vtol look awesome, also for a "reusable" vehicle.

nice rescue mission. I like the craft design, especially when docked in the interplanetary section, that's cool.

Nope. So do I. This is really awesome! Although it is 3 years old.
