Can Someone Explain Conics Mode To Me?

I'm no rocket scientist, that's for sure... I have absolutely no idea what Conics Mode actually does and when I change it I can't see any changes.

You can use this mod to change the patched conic mode on the fly. This might help you see the differences.

That's what I am using but it doesn't seem to be changing anything when I change Conics Mode...

Well, you need to set up a transfer orbit to another body (the Mun for example) first, because the patched conics do not kick in when you are landed or in a simple orbit. See bsalis's link for the differences.

Ahhh.... now THAT makes sense... Will try it later as I have a team that is on its way to Duna (well Ike really)... I was originally just testing it out in Kerbin orbit.
