R-Class Cruiser

Recommended Posts

Introducing the Kerbal Cruiser Resolution. After experimenting with various designs for large, multipurpose space vessels often constructed in several parts, I've eventually settled on this design to be the workhorse of my fleet. It is propelled by 6 fission engines and 18 ion drives (9 forward face and 9 rear facing) as well as 1 mainsail (which is used only for the initial atmospheric escape).

It features 9 docking ports, 3 of them are the mission modules at the rear of the main hull which can carry most kind of small craft and 6 are suitable for the mounting of either escape pods (in the case of the Resolution or potentially weapon systems).

The Resolution is outfitted for a Jool exploratory mission with two small landers, one for the crew, one for a small rover as well as a spaceplane for Laythe operations.

The primary hull houses 8 Kerbals, 3 on the main armoured bridge module, 1 on the forward observation deck and 4 in the habitation centre. Additional Kerbals can also be housed in mission modules.

The ship features 37,000 units of fuel capacity, 25,200 units of Xenon and 11,710 stored electric charge. I'm not sure on total dV, since I don't have mechjeb installed but believe it to be in the 8,000-10,000ms-1 range.

All in all, Captain Danvin Tiberius Kerman is pleased with his vessel and is hopeful of encountering numerous beautiful Kerbanoid women on his travels throughout the universe.

Its there, you just might need to log into googledocs to see it, or at least I did.

Strange, I don't know why that would be the case, it's not supposed to require any sign-in.

As for how many parts it is, it's tough to say. The cruiser itself is around 800 but that's including the launch vehicle. The plane is 80 or 90 and the others are between 200 and 400 with the launch vehicles included. So I'd guess the total in the image is around 900 or 1000.
