Make attractive ships?

After making things that actually work, the next big problem is to make them work and look cool. This is a much more difficult endeavor, and I have no idea how even to start. Tips?

KW Rocketry, Nova Punch Pack if you like their textures, I dont particularly care for, but may raid the engines out of it. In fact I made a pretty good Apollo style rocket with a lander tucked under the CSM, and hidden, with a 3.75m interstage.

Personally, I find a tight ship with no unnecessary parts that efficiently performs its mission to be a thing of great beauty. Case in point: the Lunar Excursion Module from the Apollo program. There's not an ounce of extra weight on that thing. It had a pressure hull the thickness of a soft drink can, and an engine with hypergolic fuel so corrosive it could not be test fired before it was actually used in the mission. It's one of the most amazing machines ever designed by humans.

I'm actually trying the same thing.

Mods I use for extra coolness:

- KW rocketry

- B9 Aerospace

- KSPX

This is one of my latest creations. It carries two landers and four sats inside its hull. Which is totally cool.
