Texture question : how to add a coloured line

Recommended Posts

Hi everybody,

I have been playing KSP for some time now (3 weeks), and i really start to get the hang of it.

I have two questions,

First, in KSPX (a part pack) , there are radial mounted (sphere/ball)-like tanks for oxidizer and liquid fuel, in the same way as there is one for mono prop. Now these two new tanks have a small coloured line, to indicate their content.

Now, the stock part, doens't have this line.

My question is, i would like to clone the stock part, alter it texture to add a small yellow stripe, just for esthetic reasons.

Could any of you point me out, somewhere where i can alter these?

The mbm files are the texture files, nobody's written a conversion utility yet but they're basically just bitmaps with a custom header. There was a guide on the details but I believe it got lost in the forum crash. It wasn't particularly complicated though so if you're handy with a hex editor you can probably work it out, otherwise I believe there's a new loading system coming next patch that should allow easier retexturing so you could wait for that.

Really? I always thought that somebody had done that. I wrote my own personal one to convert them but I thought there already was one

Well I don't check the releases forum much, but I've never seen anyone link to one or mention one.
