KSP has made me appreciate things more

For example my wife and I were watching the last Star Trek movie in preparation for Star Trek: Into Darkness viewing tomorrow. It was my first time re-watching it since starting to play KSP and BOY some of the orbital mechanical errors were just super glaring!!! The space-jump where they fall straight down instead of following an orbital/parabolic path, the mining device going down, and of course the space battles/maneuvers. Thanks KSP for deepening my appreciation for the fact that space is HARD.

Tell me about it, I was watching the Star Trek on Wednesday, and I just spent half of the climatic fall towards earth a bit of a cop out, even if they had exited lunar orbit, they would be in a high, slow, stable orbit, not plummeting towards earth at escape velocity (it looked like it).

try watching Armageddon

Just imagine what we astrophysicists think about that movie. (Thruth be told we watch it trying to find all the errors. The one who finds the most wins. Or alternatively a drinking game but beware the hangovers)

Multiple launches? I don't see a craft that big being launched and propelled all the way to Jupiter with just one launch
Yes but the Trailer looks that way. That could irritate some people (like me):)

Sadly, that's not possible... oh look! SQUIRREL!

Yeah. I'll switch off an enjoy beauty. But if your listening to music or enjoying the look of clouds, and you "friend" starts spouting rubbish, dressing as a fish and trying to eat rocks, you'll call them out on it. Star Trek is like that, it might be a "friend", but damn, it's dumb sometimes when it could just enjoy the view...

I saw the new Star Trek last week. A really good film; you just have to switch off the analytical part of your brain.

Dammit, I had the switch to the analytical part of my brain concreted in the closed position. I know i shouldve sprung for the SPDT switch.
