The Eve Crew-Basket lifter challenge!

Recommended Posts

I recently began my grand tour, but getting my modular mk1-2 command module off the surface of Eve would've killed my computer; thus I had to improvise. Meet the basket:

It weighs a paltry 0.304T, consists of 25 parts, and is just wide enough for my trio of kerbals to hold on to for dear life. I'm sure you can figure out where this is going by now, so here is what I tried:

The Eevee itself has a total of 163 parts, and weighs in at just under 150T. With the included Kerbin lifter, it totals 244 parts and 485T. I was told somewhere that it's 9000dV might be enough to get it to Eve orbit from a high mountain, but I didn't quite make it (album) (I wasn't above using inf fuel to save the Kerbals either).

I'd like to see what you guys can do! Use either the attached basket or one of you own design to make a lifter capable of bringing three kerbonaughts to Eve orbit. Remember that this is for the CPU-deficient players, so please attempt to keep part counts low. :) Good luck, my friends! :D

Edit - Here's a better one (can actually reach orbit):
