I'm not so sure about the Skipper booster... it seems when I try to fly a simple rocket (Jumbo orange tank thing and new cupola pod, for example) it ends up spinning wildly out of control for no apparent reason, even with ASAS. Anybody else seeing the same problem?

If you were using the small ASAS module, it seems that it can't torque big rockets. I tried a simple 3 stage rocket at first and had to put the bigger ASAS module because the small one wasn't doing anything.

I'm running with five mods now. BobCat's Soviet pack, Crew Manifest (because my crew roster isn't complete without Pee Wee Kerman), FusTek, MechJeb2, and RLA Stockalike. No crashes, no framerate drop, nada. The Soyuz booster is performing smoother than ever before. Now if I can just get my Mercury & Gemini components back, along with NovaPunch and KW, I'll be a happy camper!

KW has been getting some attention! Go see this thread for details about some of the edits needed (do be sure to read further than the initial patch, as there was further bugfixing needed)

More intensive testing tonight. Aside from the 450+ part monster that delivered a 12 ton payload to a 300km orbit (how's that for overkill?), delivered a Soyuz craft to a 200km orbit, and conducted a Kerbin orbit rendezvous mission to the Mun. CSM and MEM are in orbit, awaiting landing tomorrow after I've had some sleep, then very strong tea.

Conclusions so far? Stellar, if you'll pardon the pun. Everything running incredibly solid. No crashes. Memory consumption 35% of 0.19. No lag worth mentioning. Squad put out a solid update, not counting the planetary surface texture glitches they already know about.

Now, off to bed for me.

I'm sad to inform you of your lack of intelligence and your frequency of stupidity. The bugs with the Ion engine and mouse scrolling are non-existent for me. And the IVA's for the new pods are simply amazing. Yes. I agree that the navball should be lower, but you shouldn't insult the person who made them. I've had no problems landing with the IVA, and if you'd like to degrade someone else's work, then please, try to make it better. Oh. You can't.

Note the OS listed as Linux Mint. Mint is a derivative of Ubuntu, there are probably some other config issues causing trouble.

He's got a point though NWM. You're bashing the heck out of it without having put forth any effort into determining if there might be some *other* cause for some of your gripes. That mouse scroll thing is all on you my friend. You are the ONLY person calling that out (and I know, I've been cruising a lot of .20 related threads since its release).

Most of your concerns are design choice issues, and it's not really fair of you to be so hard on how instruments are laid-out in the cockpit. Seriously, if it upsets you that badly, maybe it's time to put some effort into learning how it's all made so you can change it yourself?

He wasn't the one complaining, there was another user that had complained. He was defending the devs, rather abrasively, but it wasn't him who was worried about IVA stuff.

Sweet! Thanks for the heads up!

I'm a fellow fan of KW, so I've had my eyes open for any updates on that pack. Especially since I've got ships that utilize it that I can't load until it (and a few other mods) are fixed. :D

Whoops! You're right; I looked in the wrong place for the referenced name. >_<

And someone complained that the VAB got smaller apparently, since the KW parts were clipping the floor.

I haven't seen that yet. I would appreciate the VAB being somewhat bigger, but if you're happy with the launch stage, no big deal. It's not like it won't be able to stand properly on the pad at launch time anyway. :)

Extreme example:

Extreme example:

I use Edit Tools, so both VAB and SPH have to limits of ceiling and such. Someone posted this. I tried KW Rocketry and some rockets were too big for anything I was doing back then.

Yeah, I was a bit hard on the guy (No harm meant :) ) but I wasn't the one complaining about anything.

I don't think I am exaggerating when I say 0.20 has made my game run about 3x better. My computer was running 0.19 terribly. After putting my graphics on the lowest setting I managed to get it up to a workable 5 or so frames a second on reasonably big launches and got it to stop crashing on the second launch every time, but it was still ridiculously slow. Now I'm not saying it is perfect now but it's a heck of a lot better and instead of waiting for a full minute or more to get from the VAB to the launch pad and have my controls work, it's about 10-15 seconds.

Anybody else get the feeling Squad grossly underestimated just how ginormous we'd end up building our ships? :D

For me 0.20 is a big improvement. Since 0.18 the game crasht a lot wehn i was switching from VAB to launch tower.

Now the game runs perfekt for me with the new loading system.

Thats the biggest thing for me and the new parts and flags are cool as well :)

Squad did a great job on this update.

For sure. There is some user somewhere waiting for the devs to properly implement robotics so they can launch the giant spider from wild wild west....

Oh, wait, that`s me!

Now that the modders have caught up and I was able to salvage all the space stations I lost (they were deleted from my save game whenever I tried to load it, but my quicksave thankfully still had them), I'd say there's some definitely measurable improvements in frame rate. I docked an obscenely large spacecraft (couple hundred parts, minimum) to my largest space station (another couple hundred if not 300+ parts) and sure, it chugged pretty bad but nowhere near like it would have. In .19 it would've been a slideshow. With .20 it was pretty low frame-rate, but my docking was still completely spot-on. Using the lazor docking cam for the data read and ASAS to hold orientation... slipped right in mere centimeters from dead center at a soft 0.6m/s.

Oh, and I've changed the settings in Steam to NOT auto-update. If you're unfortunate enough to have bought the game on Steam rather than direct from Squad and haven't done that yet, I strongly advise it.

If they hadn't changed the loading screens I wouldn't have known Steam had updated the game. You'll want to ALWAYS backup your save games before loading them into a new update (which I didn't think of this time). This way there's no chance the game could be stealth updated without me realizing it before I have a chance to backup my saves.

I love 0.20, the new parts are great, i love the Skipper Engine. But for me the biggest improvements are 1. the changes in the editor that lets us remove every part now and 2. due to the memory usage improvements i can now play on highest quality and with part heavier ships without/less lag :D

Hopefully, 0.20.1 will have a full Subassembly Loader implementation...

Sorry if I disappointing You, but sub-assemblies are very unlikely to came out in next update, not mention patches of actual one, this isn't small feature :).

Going back to KSP 0.20, feature that I love the most is the ability to keep AP/PE markers info displayed by clicking on them.

Maybe other features where more significant, but this made everything so much easier :D !

Maybe but I'm not talking about 500 part ships. More like 70. My computer is not very good.

I just everything of this new update, sure my old ships on the moon are underground but still this is an excellent update with a lot of content. Hopefully the modders can catch up, my mechjeb probes in the VAB ain't considered probes anymore but still a well executed update.

0.6 m/s for docking is rather hot-approach. it should be more like 0.2-0.3

I meant to say 0.06 - docking a 111 tons to a station with at least double that I like to avoid any force that might encourage flexing.
