Is there a way to purge all mods?

Recommended Posts

Something's lagging me in 0.20 or 2.0 or whatever this update is called. Some mods stalled the loading screen, so I searched for and removed them, but I've easily got 200+ parts in mods and I want them all gone. How do I do this?

copy your save file, and screenshot file to a backup folder outside the directory, then send the entire KSP_win directory to the recycle bin. redownload, re-extract, and put your files back in

Or install JS Mod Enabler, tell him to do a snapshot of the original game structure, then install/uninstall mods galore.

I just keep the downloaded zip in my downloads folder. Unpacking and dragging the folder to my games directory is pretty low in the effort department, and copy/ pasting the save file is easy too. Way less work than deleting part by part.

I use Jonesoft Generic Mod Enabler. It's a simple program that applies mods by moving files and allows them to be added and removed easily. It even warns about two mods modding the same original file and dependencies.

If you have steam, simply delete the parts, plugins and plugindata folders and re-verify the game cache integrity. It will just download the missing folders, usually takes very little time. Then with this new update, install them properly in their own folders in gamedata. If you do not have Steam, delete everything and reinstall KSP is safest and easiest.
