What does the graphics slider REALLY change?

Recommended Posts

In a lot of games, you have options like texture filtering: off, mipmap, anisotropic - normal mapping: off, on - draw distance - relative particle count - ambient occlusion: on, off - motion blur: on, off - etc.

In KSP, we have a few separate controls plus one mystery slider for quality (eg. "Good", "Fantastic").

Specifically, what are the changes at each level of this setting?

that changes the render quality, at the lowest setting things render amazingly fast and run faster, but look horrible compared to the highest where they take longer to render and more power to display, but look beautiful.

the easiest way to see this is to compare them with kerbals.

Yes, that is a given, so I don't think you understood my question. It could only really be answered by the developers, anyway...
