My sucessful Orbiter

Tortoise

Recommended Posts

I just made this video. :)
Enjoy!
Description:

The name of my rocket is "O-30B".
This rocket leaves earths atmosphere and enters orbit.
About 20 minutes later, it descends back into earth. Another 25 minutes and it is in the ocean with all 3 parachutes deployed.
This is my 2nd successful rocket, its the best I've made so far.
Now I just need to focus on getting to the mun witch will be a hard task.

It's a good attempt at a rocket, not sure if you're looking for design suggestions or not but at a minimum I will give a hint. If you noticed that your craft was taking heat in your 3rd stage.. it's because you were exceeding the terminal velocity of the vehicle. I'm not sure which rockomax you had on the back of it, but mainsail or skipper regardless, you had about a thrust to weight ratio of 3+ (likely higher with the massive increase in velocity) I'm going to guess so you could end up getting more bang for your buck in that stage by throttling down and still maintaining upward velocity.

Thanks for the tip, ill appreciate it! Id love if you have more tips, id like to make my rockets fly higher. Also, some rockets start flipping over at a certain high altitude, which causes me to lose control. Could you help me with that?
