Part Tools 0.18 - Ladder and Airlock tags missing?

Recommended Posts

I'm using the latest version of Part Tools (0.18) with Unity 4.1.2f1 on a Win7 x64 machine.

I've been able to write simple parts to model.mu and load them into the game without difficulty. However, when I decided to add Ladders and Airlocks to my model as per the tutorial on the wiki, it seems that the corresponding tags are missing:

I've also attempted to start a new Unity project and reload Part Tools, to no avail.

What other steps might I have missed?

Click on the Add Tag at the bottom of the dropdown box you have shown in the pic. Then at the top of the TagManager list that appears, the first thing listed is "Tags". When you open that, you'll be able to add the Airlock and Ladder tags to the Element listings

Click just to the right of where it says "Element 0". It doesn't show it, but there's a text entry box there where you can add the tag. After you add one, then "Element 1" will show up under it, and you can add the next one.

I couldn't find in that particular tutorial how to add the tags either. It makes it appear as if they should already be in place and selectable. I had to do some serious forum scouring before I figured out that they had to be added manually.

Actually, I referred to that tutorial in my original post.

Indeed - based on the wording of the tutorial, it makes folks assume that adding the Part Tools script to Unity automatically import the tags, when in fact this isn't the case.

Sorry, I just used my common sense when I used that tutorial and simply duplicated the layer names and the #21 for Part Triggers - I didn't need more than a picture, sorry If I assumed

you needed more, I should have been more comprehensive.

The "Add Tag" button sort of smacked me in the face the first time I pulled that menu down :)
