Testing the Seeker (BIG PICTURE ALERT!)

Recommended Posts

Seeker was going to be a nuclear engine satellite that would be sent to the Mun. The first test, Seeker 0 started out well.

Then, Seeker 0 decided to spazz while doing an orbit burn. This led to an emergency descent slowing nuclear engine burn.

Seeker 0's emergency burn didn't save it from slamming into the water, destroying the whole thing. Seeker 0-2/0.2 didn't do a spazz, however. Seeker 0-2 still didn't make it. Seeker 0-3 was then launched, and made into orbit.

Seeker 0-3 then undocked its small probe.

Here is a final picture of Seeker 0-3 in orbit.

The thing is, Seeker 0-3 had little fuel left after the orbit burns. A test will be done soon to see if Seeker 0-3 can have enough fuel to get to the Mun. Incase it runs out of fuel, more testing of the Seeker satellites will have to be done.
