Kerbal names?

I want my kerbals to have a larger name pool, where do I find the file that contains them?

EDIT: Hate to necro, but it seems that the new names I put in have seem to replaced the the ones I copied from.

In the persistent file, you can find the name of all of the Kerbals in existence in your save, dead or alive. You can change their names from there.

KSP_win/saves/<the name of your save>

You should find a file that is named persistant.sfs

When you open it in Notepad, you should be able to scroll down a bit and find where all the kerbal names are, and rename/tweak their stats to your heart's content! And the name pool is effectively unlimited, the game generates them from a list of syllables I believe, along with some famous spacey names (like Luke, Buzz, Neil, etc...).

It's probably because the game is open.... Otherwise you can override such things if you are an administrator, but permissions should not be the issue.

So far as I know, you can't actually create new Kerbal names, only change their names to something else.
