Down Under Aerospace & Party Supplies [v0.5] [REMASTERED]

Interesting concept. The reference of the early shuttle concepts are clear, that was the first thing that crossed over my mind. Furthermore, +1 for mixing the different shuttle designs, it looks realy cool.

However there are two things that I dont like:

1. The oblique line painting on the rear. It would be better if it was straight, it\'s a bit annoying this way.

2. It\'s strange, that the windows are almost on the top (but this isn\'t such a big issue).

In any case, the textures are looking good, the craft as a whole is really neat. I\'m looking forward to the release.

On a fair note, Kliper would have been designed with side portholes.

That\'s true. It just feels a bit strange, because this is not a porthole. But as I wrote before, it\'s not a big issue, I don\'t mind if it stays this way. Thinking about it, the nose texture is just too cool to modify it because of mowing the windows there.

Hey, Slew, can you do me a favour?

I\'d like some tweaks to a few parts. See, I\'m trying to build a proper two-stage LM, and yours are the right size and look good (the 1m nosecone atop a capsule decoupler atop the lander), but I am confronted with a fundamental issue: That\'s only three parts; I need a minimum of six:

1. Descent engine (liquid)

2. Descent engine tank

3. Descent module RCS fuel

4. Decoupler

5. Ascent engine (solid; technically it was a liquid but was burned at 100% throttle, so this saves me a part)

6. Ascent module RCS fuel

I\'m hoping you can split the lander apart into three different parts and make the collision mesh for the main body work like a shroud, so that the ascent engine can be put inside it. A similar modification applied to the capsule decoupler part would be fantastic as well. I can probably Kerbal up an ascent RCS block, but if you could split the top into two pieces as well that would be EXTRA fantastic.

I just started playing KSP yesterday, and thanks to this post (http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=6037.0), I decided to download your pack.

Fantastic work! Everything was very intuitive to use, looked great and fit in near-flawlessly with the default parts. I spent today researching other packs, and I haven\'t found a single one that comes close (if there are any, someone tell me!).

Thank you for the work you\'ve put in!

would you like me to make it less blocky? :) all it really needs is some champfering on those leading edges or something.

I went back and remodelled the nose. It looks a lot better now, and I\'ve learned some new tricks with edit poly. :)

Uh

Would we be able to deorbit it? As in will it be able to survive crashdown from orbit?

It can bank, pitch and survive an impact, but it\'s not a smooth ride. I\'m going to add a special parachute for safer landings.

An improved lander is something I\'ve considered. It\'s not a priority at the moment, but ask me again when the space plane is done.

Thank you for the positive feedback. It\'s what keeps me going. :)

I\'ve adjusted the model so the windows are on a (slightly) steeper slope.

As for the line painting: http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=6237.0

Go forth and design the best pattern you can!

Fair enough. Guess I\'ll look into alternate solutions in the meanwhile. Thanks for the reply! =)

A challange like this is a great idea. I already have a few ideas in my head, I\'ll upload the best ASAP, which will be probably tomorrow.

I\'m curios what\'ll the others come up with.

Can\'t wait for the next update. Would really like it if I could attach fuel tanks to the side of other tanks, ala the default fuel tank.

Would make for great parallel rocket designs!

This is my favourite pack. :)

Surface attach for fuel tanks will be in the next update.

In other news: the space plane is now fully textured.

My next task is to create some RCS blocks that will attach to the back.

Well, it\'s interesting. The shape is noticebly smoother. The textures are very nice and detailed.

I have only two problems:

- The orange heatshields: Black would be way better.

- The engine: It\'s quite strange and big. But if the stock liquid engine, or any other can be used for the shuttle, I have no objections.

Otherwise it\'s really neat.
